Victoria was a painting major while studying art at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While there, she created mostly large abstract acrylic paintings. In the late 1980's through the mid 1990's, she began to work in realistic water color and then in Chinese brush or sumi-water color painting. Victoria worked in handmade paper collages and vessels, mixed media, and black and white photography from the mid 1990's - 2007. Victoria took up oil on canvas painting in 2007 and used the medium to create mostly impressionistic style paintings. In 2015, Victoria moved back to her "abstract painting roots" and began using the oil paint to paint abstract images on canvas. She began experiment with foil relief etchings in 2015, and alcohol ink paintings in 2016. All along, Victoria has been involved with photography as her photographs have served as inspiration for most of her paintings.
